Celebrations in RRVM - Shri Krishna Janmashtami Festival (12/08/2020)
Govinda aala re: Celebration of Gokulashtami in RRVM The festival of Janmashtami remembers the birthday of Lord Krishna, the eighth incarnation (avatar) of Lord Vishnu. The festival is also referred to as Gokulashtami, or Govinda in Maharastra. Lord Krisha is revered for his wisdom about how to live life on Earth. Keeping fast on Janmastami is more than thousand times beneficial than Ekadashi fast. A person who on this day, worships Lord Krishna washes away his sins, either great or small or performed in childhood, youth or maturity in seven births. We celebrated the most auspicious occasion of SHRI KRISHNA JANMASTAMI. Teachers and staff celebrated the festival with full energy as due to pandemic students were not there in the campus, few games were arranged for staff and staff kids. This celebration represents Lord Krishnas love for butter and curd, which were the foods he most often enjoyed eating. Lord Krishna was quite mischievous and would take curd from people houses, so the housewives hung it up high out of his way.
