India is a land of different cultures and festivals. Ram Ratna Vidya Mandir , Bhayander ( West ) focuses on bringing in childrens minds , the cultures of different states . As it is truly said , “The route to mans heart is through his stomach ” , we celebrate different food festivals . The school boasts of celebrating festivals with great pomp. On the auspicious day of 19th February, the school celebrated Shivaji Jayanti with great zest.
On the occasion of Shivaji Jayanti, the school also celebrated Maharashtra food festival. The unique feature of the day was the conduction of the morning assembly in Marathi followed by a folk dance and the informative PowerPoint presentation on Maharashtra. On Shivaji Jayanti a student of class 9th, Jay Mhatre , had dressed up as Shivaji Maharaj and rode through the school campus and then presented a splendid performance in the form of a skit on the brave deeds of Shivaji Maharaj .
This was followed by cultural songs and dances by children. After the performances the students were taken to our ” Annapurna Bhavan ” ( school mess ) and shown how ‘laddoos’ the traditional sweets are prepared . The students enjoyed the Maharashtra food prepared by the teaching staff that day. On that very day, two students of our school, Mst. Sagar Gala and Mst. Shalin Sutaria had gone to Prabodhan Thackeray hall at Borivali west for the prize distribution of “Ramayana-Mahabharata” organized by Sanskruti Samvardhan Pratishthan . We are very glad that they both are gold medalists. The school always looks forward for festivals and celebrations and accolades for the students.
